Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are high season in Isle of Palms. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing your prefect Isle of Palms rental:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Isle of Palms Group Retreat has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
