Tips to get the optimal Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront Home, Pool, Direct Beach Access, Walk to Town, Pet Friendly w\/ fee- 808 Ocean has 6 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
