Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer is high season in Isle of Palms. Book your Isle of Palms vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Oceanfront Home w\/Incredible Views has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
