Tips to get the optimal Isle of Palms vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Isle of Palms area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and picking your prefectvacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Beach Access + Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Isle of Palms destination you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
