Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Isle of Palms rental & When to go:
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose your Isle of Palms vacation home:
- Start by having your group agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Thriller - Brand New contruction, Ocean view, Private Pool, Hot Tub has 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
