How to book the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home in Isle of Palms:

- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.

- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
