Rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Isle of Palms. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Isle of Palms area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Marina View, Pool, Porch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Isle of Palms attraction you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
