Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Isle of Palms area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Isle of Palms area:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Large Beach Home with Private Pool! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
