Isle of Palms rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Isle of Palms rental home & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Isle of Palms attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental:
- Start by having your group commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. One Block to Beach! Modern 6 Bed with Private Pool has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
