Finding the best Isle of Palms vacation home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. Book your Isle of Palms vacation in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick a perfectvacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. One Block to Beach! Modern 6 Bed with Private Pool has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
