Our top Rental property booking tips:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Charming updated 2 Bedroom Beach Cottage. Walk to the Beach! Pet Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Isle of Palms rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
