Tips to get the best Isle of Palms rental home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer time is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your family choose date ranges and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront 1st Floor Condo!! Community Pool & Fishing Pier! In the Heart of IOP! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
