Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. STUNNING Oceanfront Home! Golf & Ocean Views, Hot Tub, Golf Cart, Pool Access! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Isle of Palms attraction you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
