Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Isle of Palms area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the bestrental:

  • Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Port O'Call C103 - Ocean View - Ground Floor Steps From Pool\/Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
