Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Isle of Palms area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Isle of Palms vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Isle of Palms vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitors guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Second row back from the beach, cornhole court, putting green, private pool! - 2307 Palm has 9 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's an individual Isle of Palms beach you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
