Our top Isle of Palms rental booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Summer time is high season in Isle of Palms. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Isle of Palms vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Isle of Palms area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Isle of Palms visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?

- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback.
